It's Fall!

Today is the first day of fall! I love this time of year! My kids and I have already been making lots of crafts at home. :) Yesterday I went and pulled leaves off a tree because they were bright red and beautiful! We are going to write things we are thankful for on each leaf and hang it on our wall for the season. I am thankful for each and every one of you!

Here are our standards for the week. Make sure you write them down today. Each morning you will open your notebook and reflect on one standard in a complete paragraph. Your information needs to include how you feel about the standard. Tell me where you'd rate yourself (1,2 or 3). Are you learning it as we go through the week. Is there something I can do to help you with it?

Example:
I really enjoy working with fractions. I understand that the numerator represents the parts and denominators represent the whole. I can draw fractions and understand 1/2 is half of a square. I struggle with equivalent fractions and reducing fractions, so I'd put myself at a one for that part but a 3 for understanding basic fractions.

Standards:
RI4.7 I can figure out, understand and use information from charts, graphs, diagrams, and timelines to help me explain my understanding of informational texts.
W4.3.A I can write an introduction in my stories that creates a situation, introduces a narrator and characters and organizes a plot that unfolds naturally.
4.NF.A.1 I can recognize create equivalent fractions based on my knowledge of numerators and denominators.
